Filmmaker Gareth Edwards Talks About 'Monsters' and Cows - MOVIE TALK on Yahoo! Movies

This looks really good! "Monsters"....you can bet that I will be out and about watching it! As has been said before, "Get your popcorn ready!" The 3 trailers I have seen so far remind me a little of another low budget alien movie I watched recently called District 9...it wasn't that bad....I am hoping this is better.

Ray Lewis Big Hit

This is an unbelievable hit by Ray Lewis on Kellen Winslow, Jr....Can't stand Jr. but his Dad was a CLASS act when he played. Don't care much for Ray Lewis either but he puts a HUGE hit on Jr. Don't watch the circled player but the player to his right is Ray Lewis.

Kids Eat Free in Pittsburgh: Where do Kids Eat Free in Pittsburgh

THis is a great site in this economy...you want a night out with family and you have a bunch of kids...save some money...simply a no-brainer!

Sade - No Ordinary Love

Can Sade be anymore talented? She is without a doubt one of the most sexy singer in the history of music. Her songs for me do not fit a genre. They need a totally separate genre to put her music into. My wife and I listen to her music all the time....it is extremely relaxing.

Heart- Sylvan Song/ Dream of the Archer

This is a GREAT duo! I remember them and this song when I was growing up and I was hooked shortly after I heard this song. The voices and especially the guitar playing were second to none .... man or women back then!

Is Jon Stewart More Influential Than President Obama? - omg! news on Yahoo!

As Chris Carter says, "C'mon man!!!"...Jon Stewart?!?? Yeah I will admit that he is "sometimes" funny but the guys a waste of breath BUT he's not a TOTAL idiot like Kanye West...who did they ask to participate in this poll...11 year olds still sucking their thumbs?...there is no way that they can make me believe that they had a group of "men" give their opinions on this "poll".

Spectacular unknown species found in Amazon - Yahoo! News

I am always amazed at the animals and plants that are being found in the Amazon. A lifetime ago, I was headed for the 4 corners of the world to explore and I was stopped short by the most wonderful woman on the planet! :) I married her...had twins and now we are ecstatic about having our Grandson around....maybe he and I will explore the Amazon together! Could never get my wife out "camping" (that means to me a shelter-half and sleeping bag! :) but that meant to my wife an Airstream travel trailer! :) Fortunately, my twins turned out like their mom and so now I am planning explorations for my Grandson and I when he grows older....can't wait!

The curse(?) of intelligence

I have met a few people with IQ's that label them geniuses.  However, most of these same people have problems with fitting in.  I know a family who have 5 boys the oldest being 12 years old. All five have tested for high IQ's and when you talk to them, you can see it...even in the youngest one.  The youngest one (not sure of the age) and I have had conversations about the circulatory system.  I was amazed at what he knew about it.  I just spoke to the Mom today and found out that, although 4 out of the 5 are very well socially adjusted, the middle child is having a lot of problems with socialization.  It came to a head last week when she was called in for a parent teacher conference and ended up with the principle, the child's teacher and 2 other teachers who take of the gifted classes.  They laid out the problems they have with him and they are quite severe for a child his age.  They have 8 kids in or around his age at their school and he does not have or even desires to have one friend.  He says they are all stupid and doesn't like any of them.  It is heartbreaking for the mom.  The parents have now put him in to counseling and pray that this is the answer.  He treats his brothers the same at home and to try to correct the behavior is extremely exhausting and they are at their wits end.  I have had conversations with their son and they have been enjoyable....there are times that I have literally caught myself forgetting that he is around 7 or 8 years old.  I grew up with "smart" kids and every one of them had socialization problems...I have wondered for years if it is a curse or a blessing to be that smart.  I am glad to know that there have been geniuses that have crossed my path and are still part of my life that I can now call friends and I will be talking to them for some insight into why this child may be having the struggles that he does.  Anyone out there that can help, I would appreciate any constructive feedback.

Great Tribute to Eric LeGrand by Pitt...

Did you catch the Pittsburgh and Rutgers game today?  Here is a link to what the Pitt fans did to show support for Eric LeGrand!  We hear way too many negatives coming out of college sports.  We need to shout it out loud when something positive it done.

Well I am feeling better!

This stomach flu is a killer!  I spend the night in some pain but my grandson was REALLY sick...he must have been up 8-10 times last night.  We laid him on the LR floor so that he wouldn't have to go far to take care of business but he was so sick.  He is as weak as a kitten today so we got him on the BRAT diet and Gatoraide (sips).  I know, I know, I KNOW pediatricians are now saying that you don't need the BRAT diet BUT I have seen it work so well in our kids and others that we still do it when they are sick.  He ate some bananas and toast today and seems to be keeping it down.  Boy it's so hard to see your grandkids sick.  You end up praying, "God, give it all to me and take it away from them!"  Got to run and go to work.

Got sick this AM

I got up this am and felt fine.  I was sitting there eating my cereal and got sick as a dog.  The more I ate the worse I felt.  Ask my dtr to get me a trash can and as soon as she handed to me a ran for the BR.  I never had a bug attack me this fast.  Still feel terrible as I type this.  Stayed home from work and watched Predators....Great movie!  The only thing I would have changed is the main character...C'mon Man!  Adrien Brody as a warrior...who were they trying to kid!  I liked the other characters and the story line definitely had some great twists and some insights into the Predator species and series.  Fact is, I liked it just as much as the first Predator with "The Governator" (even though that one had some sad actors and even sadder script lines!).  Oh well...I am just glad they took it a different way with this one.  Got to go sit and get warmed up as I am definitely sick and have chills then hot, chills then hot.

Going to Anna's to eat tonight

Found the perfect Italian restaurant...Anna's ...hands down the best lasagna I have EVER had (and I have had it all over this country in some of the finest Italian restaurants).  If you are going out to eat tonight leave a memory of me eating the best lasagna a man could dream of ... Anna's Restaurant Lasagna!

I found these GREAT crackers!

Most of these multi grain, gluten free, low sodium crackers taste like cardboard to me BUT I found these great ones at Sam's Club that come in a yellow and burnt orange box.  They are a company called CrunchMaster and the crackers are called (of all things :) Multi-grain Crackers.  You got to try them for snacking....they are really good!

My grandson

My grandson

Just wanted to start by saying....

Hello friends and family!

Just wanted to post some rambling thoughts on days that I tire of tweeting, myspacing, facing, etc.... I found this free blog through my gmail acct so I decided to use it to post too via my email.  Keep coming back!
